Terms of service

The ground rules for using this site, written to be read rather than skipped.

By using Create Pixel Art you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree with them, the right course of action is simply not to use the site.

What this site is

Create Pixel Art publishes tutorials, technique explainers and reviews of software used to make pixel art. Everything here is editorial opinion and general information. It is not professional, legal, financial or technical advice, and it is not a guarantee that a particular tool will suit your project, your hardware or your budget.

Software changes constantly. Features get added and removed, interfaces are redesigned and pricing moves. We revisit pages as we can, but any description of a tool reflects what we found when we used it. Always check the vendor's own site before you buy.

Affiliate disclosure

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and go on to buy a product or subscription, we may receive a commission from the vendor at no additional cost to you. This is how the site funds itself.

Affiliate arrangements do not influence what we write. No company pays for coverage, for a favourable conclusion or for the removal of a criticism, and no vendor sees a draft before publication. Some tools we recommend have no affiliate programme at all, and we recommend them anyway.

Using the content

The text, layout, graphics and design of this site belong to us unless stated otherwise. You are welcome to read it, print a page for your own use, and quote a short passage elsewhere provided you credit Create Pixel Art and link back to the page you took it from.

You may not republish substantial portions of the site, sell or sublicense the content, or present it as your own work. Automated bulk scraping for the purpose of reproducing the site's content elsewhere is not permitted.

Third-party names and links

Product and company names mentioned on this site belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and commentary only. Their appearance here does not imply any endorsement, sponsorship or partnership in either direction.

We link out to software vendors, documentation and other resources. We have no control over those sites and are not responsible for their content, their availability or their privacy practices. Following an external link is at your own discretion.

Acceptable use

Please do not attempt to interfere with the site's operation, gain unauthorised access to any part of it or the servers it runs on, or use it in a way that breaks the law or infringes anyone else's rights. We may restrict access where we reasonably believe this is happening.

Availability

We make an effort to keep the site up, accurate and working, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Pages may be edited, moved or removed without notice, and we may change or discontinue any part of the site at any time.

Limitation of liability

The site and its content are provided on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, express or implied, and we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or from reliance on anything published here — including decisions about which software to buy. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Privacy

How we handle analytics, cookies and any information you send us is described separately in our privacy page, which forms part of these terms.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The version published on this page is the one that applies, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
